The Village of St Mawgan
St Mawgan is a quiet un-spoilt village close to the beautiful sandy beach at
Mawgan Porth which is just a short distance away and is accessible via a
footpath as well as by road. Other bays are easily visited by car, or just
by walking along the cliff tops.
The village itself offers many delights: Take a wander and discover the
convent hidden in the trees, and maybe even meet the monks on their travels. |
|
Watch cricket being played on the village green or explore the 13th Century
church.
Paddle in the ford or browse in the village shop, which offers fresh locally
grown produce, Cornish pasties, fresh bread and cakes, as well as wines,
beers and spirits. Then take a moment in the tea room to enjoy a scone or two
|
|
Relax outside of the Falcon, a wisteria draped 16th Century Inn, and tuck
into a lunchtime snack in the bar, or a three course dinner in the refurbished
dining room. The meat, fish and vegetables are all local, and the gorgeous
sweets are all home made.
